I don't know if anyone else is having the same problems I am when it comes to clothes, but it is SOO frustrating. Here is a breakdown on my sizing...
Shirts: My closet consists of mostly medium shirts with a few larges and a few smalls
Pants: Somewhere between a 12 and a 14
Dresses: I literally have dresses in sizes 6, 8, 10, and 12 depending on the shape of the dress. Oh yes and the few size 52 bridesmaids dresses that have been altered in the top.
I know I'm larger on the bottom and smaller up top, but this just seems out of hand. I feel like I'm in between on the fashion scale. When I look at the fashion trends on pinterest all I can find are super small models wearing clothes that won't look good on me...
(do people wear this???)
...and "curvy" girls that are plus sized and a tad larger than me and for some reason wearing mostly "mom" clothes.
...or really weird clothes....
I would venture to say that most women fall in between these sizes. You may be thinking to yourself, "but there are plenty of cute outfits on pinterest for in betweeners. In fact, Kaitlyn, just go to Ann Taylor Loft and you'll find what you're looking for." Do me a favor and go look at all the cute outfits at Loft and all the cute outfits on pinterest that you like. They are all the same. Ready for it....Tank, cardigan or blazer, tights or skinny jeans, boots or flats. You think I'm kidding?
Now, I'm not saying this isn't cute. It's adorable and pretty much my work uniform, but I could use a little variety in style. A solid ground, sized 8-12, cute style. Maybe its me though. Maybe I'm just not creative enough with my cardigan + scarf + boots=cute formula. Sigh. I think for now my only solution is to hit the lottery and hire a personal seamstress to make the styles I like fit me correctly. I think I am going to challenge myself to dressing better in March. I'm hoping that jewelry and belts and shoes can get bring me out of this boring clothes hole. Hope I'm not the only one in a style rut!!
